Ellen Berju, Director of Early Childhood Education
Ellen has been the Preschool Director since 2001. Prior to being named director, she taught two, three and four year old classes as well as served as the first Camp Keshet Coordinator.
Ellen earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreational Therapy from Temple University. She was an Art Therapist at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center specializing in developing activities for Alzeheimer Units. Ellen served as Director of Creative Arts Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital covering all medical surgical units and specializing in physical rehabilitation and pediatrics.
Ellen spent her summers working as a specialist at The JCC Camps at Medford and as the Director of Junior Camp and Assistant Program Director of Tall Pines Day Camp in Williamstown.
Ellen has been part of the Early Childhood Directors Group of the Department of Jewish Education for the past eight years. She is a member of NAEYC (National Association of Education of Young Children) and DVAEYC (Delaware Valley Association of Education for Young Children).
Ellen resides in Cherry Hill and has two children Candice and Jordan. When Ellen is not at TBS, you can find her roller blading and following Bruce Springsteen.
