Eric Jacobs, Executve Director
Eric has been the Executive Director at Temple Beth Sholom since 2006. Prior to coming to TBS, from 2002-2004, Eric served as Chief of Staff and Business Administrator for the Township of Cherry Hill. He served as the Director of Administration of two South Jersey Law firms as well as Director of Information Services for Laventhol and Horwath from 1982 – 1992.
Eric has been a member of Temple Beth Sholom since 1980. He served as synagogue treasurer (1987-1991), synagogue president (1991-1993,) and was a member of the TBS Board of Directors for many years. He was actively involved in the move from Haddon Heights, chaired the Torah Endowment Campaign and served on many other TBS committees. He received the David J. Levy award, TBS’ highest honor, in 1997. In the South Jersey Jewish community, he served as chair of the Synagogue President’s Council and was a board member of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism’s Mid-Atlantic region.
Eric is a graduate of Akiba Hebrew Academy and received his B.A. in Psychology from Swarthmore College. Eric and his wife Carolyn live in Cherry Hill and have two daughters, Lisa and Deborah. When not at TBS, Eric enjoys spending time with life long friends and attending Phillies games.
