Leonard Bernstein - June 3

B’Emtza and Bernstein … An A La Carte Event on June 3rd

B’Emtza’s Spring Event is an a la carte event revolving around the National Museum of Jewish History’s special exhibition, Leonard Bernstein: The Power of Music

The exhibit celebrates Bernstein’s centennial, and is an illustration of his life, Jewish identity and social activism told through interactive media, sound installations and historical artifacts from his life.

B’Emtza has arranged guided tours for our members, scheduled for 3:00 on the same day that the museum will be offering an additional Bernstein-related program: a special performance of his lesser-known “Anniversaries” compositions as well as some new tribute compositions. As an additional highlight, there will be a personal appearance by his middle child Alexander, who will be on hand to tell stories from the stage.

We invite you to join B’Emtza for small-group, docent-guided tours of the exhibition between 3 - 4:30 pm.

The cost per person will be $20.

Following the tour, we encourage you to dive deeper into the Bernstein experience by purchasing tickets for the concert event after. General admission tickets can be purchased through the museum and will include after-hours access to the special exhibition for further exploration. The concert begins at 7 pm, which means you will have plenty of time between the tour and the concert to grab dinner at one of the fabulous restaurants located near the museum.

Booking for the B’Emtza group tours will fill up quickly, so please respond by May 20th, and if you plan to attend the evening event we encourage you to make your arrangements quickly, as the theater seats just 200 and the Bernstein event is generating a great deal of interest throughout the Philadelphia region.

Note: the concert event is not being booked through B’Emtza. For tickets, call 215-923-3811.
