Torah Fund Campaign
The Torah Fund Campaign of Women's League for Conservative Judaism is well underway, and we need your support. The Campaign supports the needs of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles and the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. The hallowed halls of these schools represent the best in Conservative Judaic education. It is where our rabbis, cantors and educators are trained, and we become the recipients of their knowledge, wisdom and compassion. We - as Conservative Jews and members of TBS - have been fortunate to have been served by remarkable graduates of the Jewish Theological Seminary.
As you sit here and listen to our rabbis and cantor on this Shabbat, imagine an empty bimah - your support will ensure that an empty bimah is never in our future.
Or consider this: a baby naming, a brit milah, a bar or bat mitzvah, Confirmation, an aufruf, a wedding, a funeral service, Shabbat and holiday services, a trip to Israel, a class at TBS - child or adult. If you have been on the receiving end of any of the above, then you know the role that our clergy and educators play in making sure that we benefit from their education and training.
So, I ask you to give from your heart. Your gift will help provide scholarships to deserving students and funding for capital improvements to the Seminary, all of which ensures the continuity of Conservative Judaism. Any gift of $180 or more will be acknowledged with a special pin as our way of saying "Thank You."
Please make your checks payable to "Torah Fund - JTS" and send them to Helene Amster, 1401 Walnut Street, Apt. 1205, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
Thank you again for your support of Torah Fund!
