At difficult moments we turn to community and prayer. If you are praying for restored health for yourself or a loved one, if you have recently suffered a loss, if you are experiencing a particular difficulty or in need of comfort and support, or if you are simply interested in an hour of community, song, prayer, and uplift, this service is for you. Join Rabbi Wexler for a soulful and uplifting one-hour healing service preceding certain holidays as these times can be difficult for those who find themselves experiencing pain and sadness. Through prayer, meditation, sharing, and singing, we will strive to find healing, strength, and hope in one another.

About our guest:

Shanna Zell serves as cantor of Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, MA. With roots as a singer/songwriter and former band leader of pop-rock ensemble “Shanna and the Zellots,” Cantor Zell integrates rhythmic rock into her worship while drawing upon the rich heritage of chazzanut and the robust canon of Jewish music. She received her BA in European Cultural Studies and English & American Literature from Brandeis University and later received her ordination from the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music (HUC-JIR) in May 2017. She is deeply connected to Cherry Hill through her parents and siblings, who are active members of the Jewish community.

Cantor Zell upholds that one can find the sacred in all things secular, loves keeping her pulse on the underground music scene...and sushi. She lives with her husband Josh in Natick, MA.
