Off to College? Please let us know!

Mazal tov on your child’s/children’s upcoming year in college!

Temple Beth Sholom strives to create strong, long-lasting relationships with its students, even after they have graduated from high school and are pursuing a higher education. TBS wants to be there for your children as they begin to choose their own Jewish path by keeping in touch, so please take a minute to send your child’s/children’s college email address to us.

We can help them feel connected to TBS by having the synagogue send a package for the holidays with a warm note from Rabbi Peltz and Rabbi Wexler. If you would like, we will send a package to your child three times throughout the school year – Rosh Hashanah, Purim, and Passover. We will not be sending out a Hanukkah care package this year due to the fact that most students will be home for winter break, which will coincide with Hanukkah. Each package costs $20; the year’s worth of care packages costs $60. An example of a box for Rosh Hashanah: stress relief squeezable apple, honey sticks, a small round challah, apple chips, and a variety of kosher, nut-free snacks.

We have two more things that we would like to do. The first is to honor them with an Aliyah on one of our Shabbat’s in August. Please let me know which Shabbat you can attend – August 10th, 17th or 24th – and also send me your child’s Hebrew name for the honor.

Please click here for the form and mail back to TBS – don’t forget to send a check (indicate College Connection in the memo) if you would like your child to receive holiday care packages - before September 19th for the High Holiday package.

B’shalom,
Julie Levy
