We will explore themes and teachings to help prepare ourselves and find deeper meaning for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret/Simhat Torah.

These three sessions will focus on David Hazony’s book, “Young Zionist Voices,” a collection of essays by young activists and thinkers who are thinking critically about how younger generations can and should relate to Israel, embrace their Zionism, and stand up to antisemitism on college campuses and elsewhere. The sessions will culminate in David Hazony speaking at TBS in the evening of Tuesday, November 18th as part of our Israel Today and Tomorrow series.

Join us for a deep exploration of Hanukkah’s history, practices and messages as we learn about Hanukkah’s essential lessons and explore the changing role the holiday has played in Israel’s national identity.

These sessions will use Rabbi David Hartman’s (z”l), essay: “Auschwitz or Sinai” as the foundation for a conversation about Jewish identity and exploring which of these two events, and really which educational frame, is more important to understanding and defining Jewish identity, thought, and action.

Join us to explore the text of theHaggadah and its lessons about freedom, responsibility and celebration.

The idea of "49 steps ascending to Shavuot" refers to theCounting of the Omer, a period of 49 days that takes place between the holidays of Passover and Shavuot. It is a time of introspection and growth. Join us as we explore the Omer as a time for personal, emotional, and spiritual growth and the lessons of Shavuot that follow.
