Join the TBS Community in observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a morning of service projects.

All ages are welcome to come in person to TBS to participate in the following activities:

• Cook meals to be donated to Jewish Family & Children's Services clients (start time at 11 AM)
• Bake dog biscuits that will be donated to Voorhees Animal Orphanage (If you are unable to attend Mitzvah Day, and would like to bake dog biscuits, click here to find the recipe). Drop off dog biscuits at TBS by Tuesday, January 17 at 2 PM.
• Make sandwiches and put together bagged lunches for homeless shelters in Camden
• Create fidget toys for the JCC Open Hearts Open Doors program
• Put together chemo comfort bags for Cooper University Hospital
• Decorate vases to be donated to Lions Gate as centerpieces in their dining room
• Knit/crochet hats and scarves that will be donated to Juntos (Zoom option) Meeting ID: 848 5084 7538 Passcode: 5783
• Pack boxes of food for Jewish Relief Agency clients
• Learn from League of Women Voters about voter rights
• Learn from Moms Demand Action about gun safety advocacy
• Write letters to elected officials supporting rights of refugees
• Create candles and head coverings to support Sisterhood Shabbat and JFCS families
• Examine items from the TBS Geniza to determine whether they can be repaired or require burial (will begin at 9 AM with a study led by Rabbi Peltz of the halacha regarding how to determine which damaged ritual items require burial)
• Make pinecone bird feeders to bring home
• Create bracelets with Bead the Good to be donated to a youth outreach organization

Drop off your donations of the following items during Mitzvah Day in the TBS Lobby:

• Food for the Jewish Family & Children's Service Food Pantry
• Women's and men's new or gently used clean coats for the three New Jersey military bases
• Items such as new bras and unopened feminine hygiene products for Distributing Dignity
• Women's, men's, and children's new or gently used hats and gloves for refugees from Central America
• Drop off toiletry/makeup bag with toiletries with 3 or more full-size toiletries for Project Sarah
