Ron Safier, Executive Director

By the time this weekly email is sent, I will be en route to Israel for my fifth time as a civilian volunteer for the IDF. I do this because our support is greatly needed, and our presence is deeply appreciated.  And going there to help, helps me feel less helpless. The location of the military base is not disclosed prior to arrival, nor is the nature of the work to be performed. Doesn’t matter. Because I will gladly go wherever they send me, and I will happily do whatever they assign me.  And I am proud and honored to do my small part in this war of good vs. evil. My volunteer approval letter included the following: “You are part of a unique mission supporting Israel and its defense forces.  We appreciate your upcoming support for the IDF.  Your devoted time in serving the army greatly strengthens the IDF and the people of Israel.” And this is exactly why I am going.  The appreciation, the love, the connection, the emotion make it all worthwhile.  These volunteer missions are some of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my life.

You can do this too. Reach out to me anytime after my return the week of August 25 to learn how.

Shabbat Shalom, and I look forward to seeing you after my return. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you can always reach out to me at rons@tbsonline.org or (856) 751-6663 x218 (after I get back).

B’shalom,
