Ron Safier, Executive Director

When arriving at Ben Gurion Airport, there is a designated meeting area for all the civilian volunteers. Upon checking in, you are separated into groups and told whether you are going to the North, the South, or the Central District. I was assigned to a small group of 13 volunteers who came from Chile, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, and the USA, some of whom are not Jewish, but felt the need to support Israel and the Jewish people. We were sent to an army base in the North, on the Syrian border, to help with logistics.

Our work this week so far has primarily consisted of packaging, storage, and distribution of dozens of pallets of food and water for the combat soldiers. We were told that this is the first time civilian volunteers are being allowed on this base. This army base is very unique in that it is built inside a mountain. We are literally above the clouds and 9,232 feet closer to God. You can do this too. Reach out to me anytime after my return the week of 8/25 to learn how.

See my photos below.

Shabbat Shalom, and I look forward to seeing you again soon. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you can always reach out to me at rons@tbsonline.org or (856) 751-6663 x218 (after I get back).

B’shalom,

Ron Safier
