Bioethics Lunch & Learn with Rabbi Shlomo Brody

Tuesday, January 28, 2025 28 Tevet 5785

12:30 PM

Rabbi Dr. Brody will present “Should We Create Living Memorials for Fallen Soldiers? The Debate Over Posthumous Parenthood after October 7.” This fascinating,  underreported topic is a live debate in Israel right now, where patient rights conflict with medical ethics.

About our guest: Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Brody is the executive director of Ematai, an organization that helps Jews navigate dilemmas regarding end-of-life care and organ donation. Additionally, he is a post-doctoral fellow at Bar Ilan University Law School with a specialty in applying rabbinic sources to contemporary ethical debates. He is an award-winning writer and the author of the forthcoming book, “Ethics of Our Fighters: A Jewish View on War & Morality.” This event is generously sponsored by the Dr. Jeffrey Kramer Bioethics Initiative Fund.
