Mitzvah Day

10:00 AMJoin the TBS Community in observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a day of service projects
Morning minyan at 8am
Mitzvah Day activities begin at 10am
All ages are welcome!
Participate in new activities such as: creating soap sacks, mosaic trays for yahrzeit candles, and stress balls; registering for the Gift of Life; and dancing at our dance party!
Returning activities such as BookSmiles, Cook for a Friend, bake dog biscuits, bracelet making, chemotherapy comfort bags, candle making and many more!
Activities beginning at 10 AM
- Make sandwiches and pack bagged lunches for homeless shelters in Camden
- Learn from League of Women Voters about voter rights
- Learn from Moms Demand Action about gun safety advocacy
- Knit /crochet various items including soap sacks, hats, scarves, and baby blankets with Knitzvah
- Pack boxes of food for Jewish Relief Agency clients
- Assemble chemo comfort bags for Cooper University Hospital
- Sort adult and children’s books for BookSmiles
- Create bracelets with Bead the Good to be donated to NA’AMAT and LUCY Outreach
- Bake dog biscuits for Voorhees Animal Orphanage
- Decorate stones for the Holocaust Memorial Garden at Cooper River Park
- Register for the Gift of Life Donor Program
- Create candles to be donated to JFCS
- Create stress balls to be donated to Youth Futures in Israel
- Create soap sacks to go homeless shelters and JFCS
- Create yahrzeit candle trays
- Write letters to support funding for mental health
- Create cards showing support to patients at psychiatric facilities
Activities beginning at 11 AM
- Cook meals to be donated to Jewish Family & Children's Services clients
- Assemble goody bags for JFCS clients
- Pack utensil packets for Cathedral Kitchen
- Dance with ZZ Dance instructors to support Dancing While Cancering – the Maddie Kramer Foundation
- Join in Sunday Funday with Young Members Group
Teens Only Activities beginning at 11:30 AM
- Puzzle and LEGO sorting party
Collections:
- Money from tzedakah boxes to support the TBS Am Yisrael Hai fund
- Laundry detergent and fabric softener sheets for JFED SNJ - Disability Services
- New or gently used puzzles (750 pieces or less) for various organizations
- New or gently used LEGO
- New or gently used children and adult books for BookSmiles
- Kosher, non-perishable food for the Jewish Family & Children's Service Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantry
- Women's, men's, and children's new or gently used clean coats, scarves, gloves, and hats
- Sealed bars of soap (full size or hotel size accepted)
